Stone Living Room Destroyed

One of my favorite Weird NJ spots, the Stone Living Room, has been destroyed by vandals. For those of you who don’t know, the Stone Living Room was/is located in West Milford on top of a mountain in Norvin Green State Forest. The Stone Living Room was a large stone couch is a semicircle with a few “end tables” surrounding a fire. It looks like it was right out of the Flintstones. Thankfully, there is an effort underway, by fellow Weird NJ fans, to reconstruct the Living Room early next month.

  1. I had heard of a reconstruction effort, but I don’t think one will go under way. The rocks once used as chairs are shattered and at the bottom of the hill and would be difficult to make new chairs out of. Vandals did not destroy the stone living room. The trail conference committee did. Theres nothing we can do… they’ll just knock it down again and again

  2. not only could it be rebuilt, it was rebuilt. yesterday. and today it was destroyed again. I know cause I was one of those that rebuilt it. motherfuckers whoever they are.

  3. My wife and I just came back from a hike up there and were very upset to see it not there. We saw the rocks at the bottom and did’t realize at first what they were. Whoever did it really sucks.
