Weird U.S., brought to you by the same guys that brings you Weird NJ, will have a weekly television program on the History Channel. They’re replaying the show that aired around Christmas time as the pilot on Sunday, July 31, 2005. The first new episode will air Monday, August 1, 2005; and there will be a new episode every Monday after that. I saw the pilot episode when it aired back in December and thought it was okay. I’m a big fan of Weird NJ so I wasn’t too interested about the stuff outside of New Jersey. The story that they did do from Jersey, I already read about years ago in the magazine. Then again, the target audience is to the general public, not just those of us interested in Weird NJ/U.S. locations. The August 1 episode has the two Marks (Mark Moran and Mark Sceurman; the editors/creators of Weird NJ and Weird U.S.) going to New York City, Las Vegas, New Orleans, Los Angeles, and Florida. At least the places/things from New York City I can go to and check out for myself.
