Original Star Wars DVDs Done Right

I was reading this article over at Wired.com about Lucasfilm re-releasing the original Star Wars movies on DVD in their original format. That means Han shoots Greedo WITHOUT Greedo shooting first; no stupid CGI Jabba the Hutt, etc. The only stupid thing is they’re including the special edition version (with Greedo shooting first, etc.) on the same discs. That means I’ll wind up with 2 copies of the special edition. Oh well, it’ll be worth it to have the version I know and love.

Star Wars Episode III – Revenge of the Sith

I picked up Star Wars, Episode III – Revenge of the Sith (Widescreen Edition) from Best Buy earlier today to complete my Star Wars collection. Now I have all 6 movies on DVD. I just wish the original Star Wars Trilogy was exactly like I remember it. There’s a lot of things they screwed up in the original trilogy when they released it on DVD, including the ending to Star Wars Episode VI: Return of the Jedi where they changed the ghost of Anakin Skywalker from the old guy that played him at the end of the movie to Hayden Christensen who plays Anakin Skywalker/Darth Vader in Star Wars – Episode II, Attack of the Clones and Star Wars, Episode III – Revenge of the Sith.

MacGyver Second Season On DVD

MacGyver – The Complete Second Season came out today and I just had to pick it up to go along with the copy of MacGyver – The Complete First Season I have. While I was creating this post, I found out Amazon.com already has MacGyver – The Complete Third Season listed. According to Amazon.com, the third season is scheduled to come out on September 6, 2005, the day after Labor Day. It seems like they’re coming out with a season every 4 months or so. That means I should have all seven seasons by the end of 2006.

Crow: Wicked Prayer

I was surfing through IMDB.com and came across Crow:Wicked Prayer which is to be the fourth installment in the Crow movie franchise. The first one was excellent, the second one sucked, and the third one was pretty good (compared to the second but still nowhere near the first). I, being a big Crow fan, will probably buy Crow:Wicked Prayer when it comes out on July 19th. It has Eddie Furlong (young John Connor from Terminator 2 – Judgment Day), David Boreanaz (Angel from Buffy the Vampire Slayer, the TV show), and Tara Reid (American Pie). It’ll be a little weird seeing David Boreanaz playing a bad guy. I just hope it’s not worse than The Crow – City of Angels
