Twitter Updater

I have just installed and activated a new WordPress plugin called Twitter Updater. Twitter Updater

automatically sends a Twitter status update to your Twitter account when you create, publish, or edit your WordPress post. You can specify the text for the updates, and also have the option to turn the auto update on/off for the different post actions in the admin panel.

Since I keep forgetting I have a Twitter account, I figured this would be an easy way to keep it updated.

FeedBurner Feed Replacement

For a while now I’ve been thinking about replacing my RSS feed with FeedBurner so that I could see exactly how many people are subscribing to my feed. I finally installed the FeedBurner Feed Replacement Plugin for WordPress. Now when someone subscribes to my regular feed, they automatically get the FeedBurner feed. The plugin is even recommended by FeedBurner themselves. I was surprised to see I have over a dozen subscribers. I wonder how many of them are not related to me.

ClustrMaps

I saw this on the website of the person that created the theme I’m now using on my website. It’s called a ClustrMap. It allows you to See at a glance where your site’s visitors are located: instantaneously, even when the numbers are enormous! I’ll be adding the thumbnail to the left sidebar to show where the visitors are coming from.

Alert Bar

Looking over the stats on my sites, I have noticed that over 50% of the people that come here use Internet Explorer. I have installed the Spread Firefox plugin to pop up an alert bar when someone views this site with IE, and only IE. If you view the site with any other browser, the alert bar won’t show. I did this in an attempt to educate people how inferior IE is as a web browser and that there are other options out there that are safer to use. The link in the alert bar takes the person to a site where they can download Firefox but they can also download Opera, Flock, or Netscape as a web browser. Any of those are better choices than that damn blue e.
